We have all been through that horrific time in our lives where we were not the best sight to behold. Some of us are fortunate enough not to have experienced this embarrassing time. I’m talking about acne.
What is Acne?
If you don’t know what acne is, chances are that you have never had, nor seen it. Lucky you! Acne is a skin condition that causes spots and pimples on the shoulders, back, neck, chest, arms and more commonly the face. It commonly occurs during puberty, when the sebaceous glands are activate, but it can occur at any age.
My Personal Experience with Acne
The first time I noticed acne on my skin was as early as age 13. I was absolutely certain it was just a bad reaction to something I ate. However, as months went by and my pimples multiplied I had to come to the realisation that it was indeed the dreaded, acne. For over 6 years I struggled with this condition, and for 6 years I tried to treat it.
I tried everything:
- Baking soda / Baking soda mixtures
- Rice Scrubs
- Facial steaming
- Antibacterial soap
- any other absurd things I could find
It was a stroke of luck when I heard of the benefits of neem soap in a health presentation. I sought out to get it and found something better; the Neem & Aloe Soap made by Nature’s Pure Oils and Cosmetics.
This soap is handmade here in Jamaica and is one of the most effective products I’ve used to treat my skin. Let’s first look at the texture. It is soft enough to manipulate but hard enough to keep its shape. The softness is caused because of the many oils within the soap. These include olive oil, castor oil, palm oil, coconut oil, and neem oil.
Secondly, the scent isn’t pleasant but that does not take away from its effectiveness and the scent doesn’t last for very long.
Not only is the soap anti-bacterial and anti-fungal but it also contains many other products that are proven to aid in skin treatment. Neem is a beacon of hope for those who have sensitive or acne prone skin and aids in clearing blackheads, whiteheads, acne scars and controlling excessive oils. Aloe is a miracle plant that we can also credit with the effective treatment of a number of skin related issues. Aloe reduces signs of aging, lightens blemishes and reduces acne, just to name a few. Combining these two things was a brilliant move; the added oils left my skin rejuvenated and smooth. This, sadly, does not mean you don’t moisturize after you wash your face, as it can leave the skin feeling dry and tight after.
How to Use Neem & Aloe Soap
Step 1: Lather a washcloth or Face brush with the product.
Step 2: Apply to wet face and work in product for 45 seconds.
Step 3: Let product sit for a few seconds.
Step 4: Pat dry with a towel.
Step 5: Moisturize and take on the world!
- Cut the soap into small cubes and store in a container. This will ensure less product is used and preserves it better than its original packaging will.
- Coconut oil is an effective moisturiser as it repairs and hydrates skin.
Who would have thought that after only three weeks Nature’s Pure Oils and Cosmetic’s Neem and Aloe soap would dramatically change 6 years of facial trauma! I would highly recommend this product to anyone who wants something effective for their problematic skin.
