Mandeville, Manchester- The third episode of the Northern Caribbean University (NCU) Philmelodia Club’s anticipated Versuz is scheduled for tonight, March 7, 2021, at 6 pm, under an edition that is being described as ‘Black History Edition.’
The event will be streamed LIVE on the Club’s Instagram page, @philmelodia_clubbb.
Philmeloda President, Janae Walker said the Social Club got the inspired concept from the culmination of Black History Month in February.
“We are fresh out of black history month and in all honesty, we couldn’t proceed without having a black history-themed versuz. We loved the idea and concept so much that we decided to have it regardless of the month because who says we have to wait until black history month to celebrate black excellence?”
The Biology Major shared that everything black will be celebrated.
“We will be celebrating everything black, using black genres, sharing some interesting black history facts and we even have a poetry segment.”
The Philmelodia Versuz is a spin-off from VERSUZ which is a series that was created by Swiss Beats and Timbaland which began last year.
The general concept of versuz is that two singers face off, head to head in a voice battle.
“This Philmelodia versuz will be different from our previous episodes and even any versuz that has ever aired because instead of two artist going head to head in 5 or more rounds, this versus will be a tag-team style. There will be two teams of 4 and each person in the team will take on a genre. It promises to be very exciting.”
