She then went on to ask, “Where are you leading others to?” Weak and unsure responses were given by council members. They were left to think seriously on that one.

Twenty-six(26) clubs were inaugurated on the day. Under the theme, “Par Excellence: Never Settling”, President Powell reminded students that they are leaders and they should act as such, “You are leaders and this should be displayed throughout your everyday lives”. She added that “Par Excellence is not just a fancy theme, you must retain it and live by such. Excellence in academics, your spirituality, your social life.” The guest speaker’s words of encouragement were well received from the observation of the students appreciation through loud noises.
When asked what stood out most for them at the inauguration, three(3) executive members made mention of President Powell’s speech, “the speaker had a conversation with us literally, she was very engaging and because of that, remembering a few of her words were easy.”
USM President, Kavion Allen in his remarks to the executives, encouraged them to continue improving, manage their resources and conduct programs and initiatives that will help them to achieve their set goals in collaboration with other clubs.
