GOD’S IDENTITY

The term omnipresent can only be used to describe one being in the entire universe. The one
and only true and supreme God. The definition for omnipresent states, “Present everywhere at
the same time, His divine presence compasses the entire universe”.
Psalm 139:8-10 demonstrates this very attribute of God in utter preciseness. I quote “ If I ascend
up into heaven thou art there, if I make my bed in hell behold thou art there, if I take the wings of
the morning and dwell in the uttermost part of the sea, even then shall thy hand lead me and thy
right hand shall hold me”.
With great amazement we reflect on this attribute, knowing we can be in any part of the world
and God is there to comfort and care for us, and at the same time an individual in distress miles
away can call upon God and he is there with that person also bringing comfort and joy. This
attribute separates God from the rest of the universe.
If we should dive a little deeper into the bible we would see that in Jeremiah 23:23, 24, God
informs us that we cannot hide form him, he fills the Heaven and Earth at the same time.
Knowing this we should be careful of the places we go, as we do not want to shun his presence,
as that would give the devil the perfect opportunity to strike.
It is extremely comforting to know that we have an Omnipotent, Omniscience and an
Omnipresence God, glorious in all his divine Sovereignty, we are only required to put our
complete faith and trust in him, knowing, he has never failed us and will never do so.
