MANDEVILLE, NCU-   Director of Food services at Sorenson Hall Mcziffon Marstin said that he is unaware of what is happening regarding the cafeteria being out of stock and students left without food.

Students were left upset and starved on Friday 8, November as the cafeteria was practically empty of food. Speaking with Hilltop Trumpet journalist, Marstin said, “I have no power over what’s happening, my only duty is to ensure that stuff is ordered I can’t do anything else, and goods were ordered but not delivered so this is out of my control.” said Marstin.

Social Affairs Coordinator of the Philmelodia Club, Nicole McFarlane said, “Caffe has been like this since yesterday and today, it is very frustrating and an inconvenience especially for us who live in dorm. We are not catered for.” said McFarlane .

Student worker assigned to Sorenson Hall Hadifa A. Hibbert said, “I assist in the storeroom and this is a sensitive topic and as a student worker I am not privy to certain information where this is concerned, but having been around long enough I know the underlying issue but I cannot speak on them”.

Treasurer at Finance Services, Lana Brown also said that she is unaware of the issue and will check with the relevant authorities to shed some light on the matter.

Sorenson Hall ‘Caf’ is the main source of food for the University. It provides food for students, workers and visitors daily. This lack of resources has sparked vexation in both students and faculty. We do hope this coming Monday we are greeted with a fully stocked cafeteria.
