Basic Community Computer Training Programme Certifies Participants

Participants in the Basic Community Computer Training Programme  were awarded for completing the  programme Thursday November 1 2018. The class was put on by the Computer Information Science (CIS) Department on the Northern Caribbean University (NCU) Main Campus.

CIS Department Chair,Damion Mitchell, says these classes are a way of giving back to the community. To provide knowledge to those who need it. “This is an event that is held every semester. We have different target groups so one semester we might open it to the community and another semester we may focus on police officers only or teachers only.

Participant,Maureen Powell had this to say about the classes “I found it to be very informative, and the teachers to be very patient. I think it is because they know we are all novices and they take their time and I understand everything clearly. Especially me being a teacher this class was not only important but necessary.

For two days a week between October 1 and 31, participants were trained n Microsoft Office, Internet, Email and more by the faculty with aide provided by students from the CIS department.
