NCU is an extraordinary multifaceted institution, boasting a generous number of departments that not
only service the school, but by extension the business community . Though most persons are aware that
these departments exists, they are unaware of the the services offered and how they can be of any
benefit to them. The University Press is no stranger to this statistic as it is probably one of the most
underrated departments on campus.

The University Press is the exclusive printery birthed from the Northern Caribbean University. NCU’s
Press is said to be the largest printing press outside the capital of Manchester and sets to fulfill the
needs of clients all around in a Christ- centered environment. The press initially started as a small
printing facility aimed at spreading the gospel through print products, but with time, it developed a
business-like structure which produces and publishes large volumes of quality content.

Calendars, text books, business cards, magazines and flyers are just some of the services the press
offers. The Press possesses the ability to produce large quantities of products to satisfy their client’s
needs. Having been in operation for over 90 years, the press stands as one of the oldest establishments

on campus. During this time, the press has done well in serving the school and extended communities.
Garfield Lyttle, Productions Manager considers this printery to be one of the best across Jamaica. He
stated that “The University Press is one of the best in Jamaica. We offer a wide selection of services and
we have the best qualities. “ Having 32 years of experience at the press, he considers this an honour.
Lyttle said “I’ve been here for 32 years and I’ve seen this press grow. So in my experience, being here
has been really good”.

The Press is open Mon-Thurs 8:30-5:00 and Fridays 8:30-1:00. The department may be contacted by
